mixed feelings

Fair warning: this is a rare (very rare for me in fact) "drunk post". Therefore, any rambling I will attribute to that instead of my normal tendency to ramble in general.

I am getting settled into my new home and I have to admit that it is growing on me. Like pretty much anything else in life, it has its(note to the likes of fringes I just had to backspace and elimintate the apostrophe in that word) positives and its(note: see previous note) negatives.

Positives:

It is quiet out here. UNBELIEVably quiet.

Do I have any volunteers to come drive by in the middle of the night? Could you do things like A) honk your horn. B) yell obscenities("hey mother F**ker get your ass in the house and leave that ho alone" )specifically would help me till I adjust to the quiet life. I think it would help me to sleep in the meantime. Hey what can I say, some people need whale music to relax and sleep, I being a city boy, may need 'city music'.

C)If you could manage to somehow get a police helicopter to hover in my neighborhood once a week or so that would be all that much better. I would sleep like a baby I am afraid.

I am finally getting back to relatively normal. I have internet access, sattelite hookup, and as of a few hours ago even wireless capability. This may not sound like much to the average joe and to me as recently as two weeks ago it wouldn't have seemed like a big deal to me either. However, after almost two weeks without any of the above they seem like huge steps to me. I guess it is all relative after all. As we speak I am sitting in the living room watching the baseball game, and typing this post on my laptop. In a couple of days I will have my new furniture delivered and be able to do so in comfort THEN I will be in heaven.

I could say a lot more, but discretion(or having to pee) being the better part of valor I shall close for now. May even delete this when sober me sees it tommorrow but for now I guess it shall stay posted.

Nothing like a good drunk post!

I love drunken posts...that reminds me that I haven't done one in a while. Good thing I have a bottle of Merlot at home...I'll have to get right on that!

That was your best drunken post?

You're a lightweight. :-)

(I still don't know what a biffyite is. It's killing me!!)

Pretty much all of my post are drunk posts. Well, at least I stay that way in my mind.

Alynda: It makes me seem more human? I will have to stop that immediately then!

Michael: you eliminated me the second you used the words 'good' and post in the same sentence, but thanks for trying.

Tera: Just remember the old preschool lessons. Bring enough for the whole class or don't bring any at all. Or in this case if you could at least bring enough for the whole "ass" it will be good enough for government work.

SWF: Sorry, I remember reading that question via my phone and forgot to go back and answer it. "Biffy" is just my pet name for the little town that I live in. You have probably heard the term "B.F.E." If not,It stands for Bum fuck Egypt if I am not mistaken which is just another way of saying the middle of nowhere. IE; "I had to go all the way to BFE to get my car fixed." B.F.E became "biffy" to me for short. Hope that made sense. As for the 'lightweight' comment, guilty your honor, guilty.

Susan:Been there done that, bought the tshirt, and will do it again I am sure.

Your drunk posts are better than my drunk posts.

lmao! i'm with swf, shall i give you a lesson on drunken posting? how about drunken co-hosting? or drunken mowing?

let me know when you're ready to move up in your weight class. cause right now i'm not sure you qualify for light weight, feather weight maybe. ;-)

try recording city sounds off of the tv or have a former neighbor record some for you. that should help you sleep till you get used to the crickets and early morning bird song.

I think we should have a 'drunken posting event'...it is fun to read...

Didn't John Cusak's character in 'Midnight in the GArden of Good and Evil' have a recording of city sounds to fall asleep to since he was a hardened new yorker in NOLA?

Heather: by all means feel free to give me lessons in drunken co-hosting. I haven't heard THAT before.

Esmerelda: Not sure about that movie, but the drunken posting event sounds like an idea to me.

I don't think you were really drunk when you wrote this. When I'm drunk and writing I get way too poetic and then start the smack down. I go from the best artist in the world to the Earth's best comedian in the span of two sentences.

I go back and read it and swear never to drunk type again.

damn, why can't i trash my own comment here?

you do things like that just to annoy don't you? lol

briliantdonkey said...

Awwww were we on a drunken comment spree? how cute. Not sure what I did to annoy but then I do that enough to the point where it comes naturally and I dont even realize it sometimes. Just wish I could put it on a resume.

Woo! Drunk post!

No offense or anything, but it could have been a lot "drunkener," to use a fake word.

I know how you feel about the sudden quiet. All I can say is, you get used to it. Or, you start to create your own noise.

And seriously. next time, don't post till you have at least a six pack and a few shots in you. :-)
